Hello Diane,

From the Merge Design File dialog, you can click on the "Icons" button to display icons of all of the designs in your current directory. This will let you view small versions of the designs while you search, which may help quicken the process.

Unfortunately at this time, there is no text-based searching method.

I hope this answers your question!

The Evolution of Sequin Features

One area of apparel decoration that is currently seeing a lot of innovation and growth is sequin. Traditionally, markets for sequin designs are niche, meaning they are most popular in certain pockets of the world - most notably in Italy. However, there has recently been an expansion in interest and in turn, an increase in focus from software and equipment manufacturers.

AUTOMATIC GAP

Apparel decoration software has made the sequin experience much more user friendly by implementing features to quicken the process and improve sequin design quality. One such feature is called automatic gap, which eliminates the addition of extra sequins and tack down stitches where a segment crosses over itself. This feature will make your design much cleaner and will also help save on materials.

SEQUIN REPEATS

On the other side of the spectrum, apparel decoration software now enables users to place repeats of sequins and tack down stitches on a desired segment. This process can now be done with ease and the user can select the exact number of repeats that are placed in the design.

VARIABLE SPACING

Setting the distance between sequins is also easier than it has been in the past. You can find settings in your apparel decoration software that allows you to set a variable distance between sequins in a segment.

SEQUIN SHINE + CHANGE Users can also now have a better visualization of sequin designs within their software, as more realistic sequin renderings with shine effects are now in place. The type of sequin can be changed quickly by using simple keyboard shortcuts.

If you have been on the fence about getting into the sequin business, now is the time to investigate further. Software has made sequin design easier than ever before to create beautiful, high quality garments.

Kerning Table

Hello,

Each DGML embroidery font has its own kerning pairs table. The kerning pairs and spacing values are stored within the font file.

The text segments in your template design will point to a specific font. The generated text will use whatever kerning values are assigned to the font of the same name installed in DGML.

Hope this helps.

Custom Corners in Apparel Decoration

Custom Corners in Apparel Decoration

Apparel decoration software can allow you to customize the corners of shapes and designs. Corners can be adjusted with a simple click of the mouse, making high-quality professional results easy to achieve. There are four different corner types that can be applied:

Auto Corner

Auto Corners are the most popular style in embroidery designs. Auto corners create a natural look and curve by slowly turning the angle lines. These make for a smooth look when the angle of the corner is greater than ninety degrees. Angle lines can be added and subtracted to create different looks.

Hand Sewn Corner

Hand sewn corners eliminate the sharp point at the end of a corner. An abrupt stop is made before the corner is completed and instead the result is a straight line. One issue the some people have with hand sewn corners is that they feel it gives a bit of an unfinished look.

Mitered Corner

Miter corners leave a much different look in which you can more clearly see two different pieces being joined at a sharp point. Mitered corners can cause a higher than normal amount of stitches when dealing with more acute angles.

Capped Corner

Capped corners are an option that is used to hide dividing lines and produce a cleaner look. They look exactly as they sounds, like a wizard’s hat has been places over the sharp corner. Capped corners are often applied to small lettering segments.

Make sure that you try out all of the different corner types to see what types work best for you in each and every situation. Remember to keep your stitch count in mind while you experiment with these four options as well. It may cost you a little more or a little less in terms of thread use, but the stylized effect could be well worth it!

Hello AZIEHAN,

Are you trying to use the Import Artwork button? Or are you trying to use import via DrawFusion?

If you are trying to use DrawFusion and receive the "Failed to create DrawFusion" notification, this is because CorelDraw x6 is not compatible with DG/ML12 unfortunately. If this isn't your issue, we may need to see a sample of the files you're trying to import to resolve the issue.

HELP! How to Find Training for Embroidery Software

HELP! How to Find Training for Your Embroidery Software

So you have recently purchased embroidery software…Congrats! Now how do you use it?

There are several ways to find help with using your software from both the manufacturer side and the distributor that you purchased from. Whether you’re new to embroidery or if you’re an expert looking to brush up on a specific skill, there are plenty of helpful options available to you.

1. Manuals

The online help for your embroidery software should have a search function that will help if you are looking for a specific function, like how to add a stop command to your design. You can also find a glossary if there are any terms or functions in your software that you need help understanding.

2. Webinars

Manufacturers, distributors, and trainers of apparel decoration software often hold webinars to introduce new products or to highlight important features within their product. Webinars are an excellent opportunity to ask questions about software in a live environment.

3. Videos

YouTube has become a great source of training for several different software manufacturers. You can find longer introductions to new software or short and specific videos on how to use a specific tool or feature. These are especially helpful if you have two monitors and can watch a video as you create your design.

4. Social Media

Social media can be an excellent source of two way communication between a customer and a business or trainer. If you have a specific question that you can’t find an answer to, it is definitely worth reaching out to an expert on Twitter or Facebook to ask for assistance.

5. In-Person Training

Many distributors offer in-person training to customers and can usually be counted on to talk you through any and all questions you have about your new software. Depending on the distributor and the location, this training could be done at your place of business or the headquarters of the distributor.

6. Distributor Websites

Most distributor websites will have an automated support system where you can submit tickets if you are having trouble with your software. Oftentimes, what seems like a big issue can be cleared up rather quickly by talking to a person in support or training.

7. Professional Trainers and Educational Courses

There are a number of third party trainers and educators who can be hired to teach individuals or groups of employees about the embroidery software and machines they are using. Trainers often own or manage their own embroidery business as well, and can offer practical tips and insights from their years of experience in the industry.

As a new software owner, there are many options available to you in terms of training. The more skilled you and your employees are with your digitizing software, the higher quality of products you can create. Remember to take advantage of any opportunities you may have to improve your skills!

Making it Fit with Personalizations

Making it Fit with Personalizations

Over the last few years, the demand for personalization has been on a steady increase. The main reason for this comes more from manufacturers than the consumer side of things.

People have always been interested in personalization. Who doesn’t want their name monogrammed on their new scarf or polo?

The trend really took off because of the technical innovation on the manufacturing side. New software has made it possible to fulfill these personalization needs efficiently. More and more companies now have the ability to offer personalization of garments and other goods.

Obviously, large retailers were the first to take advantage of this new technology, implementing it on the design end and the production end of their business. More recently, we have seen some of these personalization features starting to creep into digitizing software for smaller businesses and retailers.

Before Width Compression:

One such feature is the ability to “shrink to fit” text segments. This is especially useful for jobs where an entire team, club or other organization has asked for personalized garments. What happens if the baseball team who just placed a large order has a catcher named Buck and a shortstop named Hechavarria? How will these two names of fit in the same area allocated for text?

The answer used to be that you would manually resize and reposition each name until you finished the entire team.

After Width Compression:

Now, embroidery software allows you to “shrink to fit” any text segment. Names can be automatically resized and repositioned to fit the defined area both vertically and horizontally.

“Shrink to fit” is just one of the tools that businesses of all sizes now have access to, that larger manufacturers and retailers have been using to expedite personalizations. Oftentimes it’s the ability of the manufacturer to produce a certain item that can set trends rather than the customer’s demands.

Hello AZIEHAN,

For DGML12, you would need to use CorelDRAW x3 or x4.

I must note that DGML12 is not supported by distributors anymore though, so if you have any issues you will need to upgrade to a newer version of DG to receive assistance.

We would like to insure you are running DG15 in 32bit mode by asking you to follow these instructions:

Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  • If "64-bit Operating System" is listed under System type, you’re running the 64-bit version of Windows.
  • If you don’t see "64-bit Operating System" listed under System type, you’re running the 32-bit version of Windows.

In addition, please open your Task Manager while Tajima DG15 by Pulse is running by:

I'm running Tajima DG15 Composer on windows 8.1, AMD A10 processor 3.69Ghz, 16Gb Ram.

It was working fine for a couple of months untill one day the computer did an update and now I can't even open the program because window closes it automatically. I corresponded with my supplier and ensured me it had to do with my firewall settings. I checked all that and it seems thats all set correctly. On several attempts I tried to get in contact with them again but I get no response back. So now I have installed it on an older Windows 7 machine and its running ok but slow. The only thing is that the computer is in a different location so I need to constantly save all my files on USB drives. I've attached a screenshot of when the program opens up. I hope someone can help. Thanks

Hello nakisci,

We are currently working to reduce the number of registrations required for DG15. Thank you for bringing it to our attention again.

Currently If you register for PulseCloud and click the DGCommunity button from the PulseCloud page, it will automatically create a DGCommunity account for you. This simplifies the process, but we are working to make it smoother still.
