Embroidery to look like Rope?

Does anyone know how to digitize to make it look like rope? I'm going to create a boat and I want to embroider a sailing rope. Is there a way to use one of the programmed runs and change proportions?
If you know of any tricks, please let me know!

I did an embroidery stitch of a rope before but I just treated each segment of the part of the rope as one area. I did it manually for there were just a few inches of it in the design. However, I have never done any rope stitch yet that would stretch out into bigger designs. I have not used any rope design yet so far. If there is one, then it would make things easy for the design.

Make a satin on each segment of the rope, works on every scale
